High capacity/performance storage media
HP’s advanced intelligent
tape (AIT) media products span all three generations, AIT-1 70 GB,
AIT-2 100 GB and AIT-3 200 GB to deliver high capacity/performance
storage media for AIT drive and library customers. HP AIT cartridges
contain a 64k memory chip embedded into the cartridge that allows for
direct connection to an on-board processor in the drive to ensure quick
media load, faster access to user files, multiple on-tape load and
unload points and historical data on the media. AIT neatly fills a
niche between DDS and DLT, packing amazing capacity into a cartridge no
bigger than an audio cassette.
